Why choose C3?
At C3 Life Coach, it really is all about you! Consider these descriptions as ‘open for discussion’.
How do we start?
What to expect?
How to pay for services?
It’s all about you!
I offer a personalized service to individuals, special workshops to small groups, and resources for those pausing to renew. My services are tailored to your needs, evolving with you.
You have a partner who supports you in what you need now while nurturing your capacity to live ever more fully. In choosing to partner with a professional life coach, you are believing in yourself.
How do we start?
As simple as 1-2-3!
Step 1 Get to know each other
We start by scheduling a 'get to know more’ conversation. The purpose of this conversation is to explore what you need and how I can serve you.
Life coaching can be by phone or video. In-person services will resume in May 2021.
To be effective, life coaching typically occurs over time. The form, structure, duration, and intensity all depend on what works for you and may shift as your needs evolve. Together, we'll create an approach to attain what you want.
At C3 Life Coach, I honor your ways of interacting, learning, expression, and getting things done. However, one of the benefits of coaching emerges from trying different ways, practicing new skills, and developing unused capabilities.
Step 2 Reach a mutual understanding
If you’re interested, I will send you a welcome packet so we can reach a mutual understanding.
A welcome letter summarizes our ‘get to know more’ conversation.
Two booklets provide information to help you decide if life coaching is right for you, if I am the right coach for you, and how to getting the most from your coaching.
Two client forms need to be completed and returned.
The About Me form asks for some basic information and your expectations for coaching.
The C3 Life Coaching Agreement summarizes the life coaching services we discussed, our commitments to each other, as well as how we amend the coaching agreement.
Either party may terminate this agreement with a 1-session notice. This 1-session notice allows us to review and complete any pending work, co-create a path forward for your success, provide support resources, and fully celebrate your progress. The closure experience of the coaching engagement is powerful, energizing, validating, and not to be slighted.
Step 3 Prepare to begin
Once I have your completed About Me form and C3 Life Coaching agreement, we will schedule your initial sessions and discuss how to prepare.
What can you expect?
You start from wherever you are, which may be a confusing and stressful time. For this reason, it's important to prepare a foundation that eases your path forward.
We begin by understanding what you’ve been experiencing, including the process that underlies what is happening and surfacing your desires.
Initial Sessions
what’s my path?
Initial sessions are structured,
45 to 90 minutes for 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the complexity of your situation and preferences for coaching.
These sessions explore recent events, approach, and best path forward.
And create your personal guide,
My Way.
Depending on your best path forward, you may choose to continue coaching or move forward on your own for now. If you choose ongoing coaching, we'll co-create a coaching plan that works for you and update our coaching agreement.
Ongoing Coaching
Navigating Forward
Ongoing coaching is the process
of navigating your situation.
The form, structure, intensity,
and duration of coaching depend
on what works for you and
shift as your needs evolve.
Coaching occurs through purposeful conversations led by you. I listen deeply, ask thought-provoking questions, and support you in exploring, creating, and moving toward what you desire.
Each session begins with a check-in on your recent experience: we celebrate what worked, troubleshoot what didn’t, and identify where you are now. We then explore possible ways of moving forward — what seems useful, feels good and doable — and brainstorm possible actions to address your chosen focus. Specific measurable goals might be generated, but as a secondary process.
In between coaching sessions, you follow through on the ways you choose to move forward. If you haven’t completed what you wanted. This is not a reason to reschedule. Instead, we explore what got in the way, which can be very productive.
As your coach, I monitor overall progress as you navigate the change in your life — and if it sticks or drifts, I inquire whether you want to make any adjustments.
Each month, we check-in on the process and plan the next month's coaching or how you may continue on your own. Most clients find 3 to 6 months beneficial.
How do I pay for services?
Your monthly payment is due and payable before your first session of each month. You may pay by cash, check, with PayPal, or by other arrangement.
C3 Sliding Scale
Fees are within established coaching standards and can be negotiated based on your circumstances.
I believe life coaching should be accessible to everyone, particularly when they may need it most. For this reason, all fees are on a sliding scale. I also work with community partners to reach out to their members who may be isolated or have limited support.
What does a sliding scale mean? It means you select your cost according to what you’re able to pay. I know it’s not simple and more than your income is involved. To help you find where you fall on the scale, here are the guidelines I used:
The top of the scale (Tier A) reflects the true cost of service. If you have access to financial security, own property, or have savings, you would normally not qualify for other tiers. If you can secure necessities and are able to pay for 'wants' — this price is for you.
The middle of the scale (Tier B1 and Tier B2) acknowledges that paying true cost may deter some people from accessing services, but they do not honestly see themselves at either the top or end of the scale. If you have access to steady income and are not spending most of your time thinking about meeting basic needs such as food, shelter, medical care, child care, etc. — you belong here. If you can ask others for support, please consider using their resources.
The end of the scale (Tier C1 and Tier C2) acknowledges that current circumstances may prevent some people from accessing services if there was not a deliberate opportunity offered to access services at a cost reflective of their economic reality. If you struggle to meet basic needs such as food, shelter, medical care, child care, etc. — you probably belong here. If this lower tier is still too much, we will work to find other solutions.
NOTE: There are a limited number of slots at the middle and lower end of the scale. Please be mindful that if you select to pay less when you can truthfully afford to pay more, you are limiting access to those who truly need the gift of financial flexibility. Being honest with yourself nurtures your self-esteem and appreciation for all that is wonderful in your life, even on your darkest day.
To illustrate this:
Consider paying less if you have uncovered medical expenses, receive public assistance, have limited resources or support, are supporting dependents, are working your way out of debt, been denied work, coping with an insecure future, are a community volunteer, or other constraint.
Consider paying more if you own the place you live; have investments, retirement accounts, or inheritance; travel recreationally; have access to family money and resources in times of need; work part-time by choice, or choose not to work; or are able-bodied.
Ask yourself, Honestly, in which tier do I belong?
Tier A I can secure necessities and pay for my ‘wants’
Tier B1 I have steady income, meet basic needs, and can ask others for support
Tier B2 I have steady income and meet basic needs
Tier C1 I struggle to meet basic needs
Tier C2 I would appreciate finding another solution
C3 Life Coach Fees
Fees are based the intensity of coaching.
For example, fees for three sessions vary from $95 (Tier C1) to $295 (Tier A).
Other solutions (Tier C2) include arranging access through the C3 Community Referral Network or bartering.
The C3 Community Referral Network (under development) is a collaborative venture with local non-profit organizations and individual providers who know and assist those having a challenging time. A Community Referral Network helps with initial trust and feeling of safety and provides a collaborative “system” of other resources. It’s a way of effectively serving others in a timely way. Aligning our efforts is a win-win-win.
Ethical and legal bartering can be arranged via individual agreement. The specifics are detailed in the coaching agreement.
